COACHES: This is a GREAT clip to teach your players about puck support. On this entry, TBL does an excellent job creating 2v1s on the WSH defense with their puck support. They are able to execute with their passing and get a scoring chance out of it. Awesome job!!

KIDS: SOUND ON & listen to the WSH bench go nuts after Jay Beagle blocks these shots. I’ve always thought there was a psychological advantage for a team that gets loud for sacrifice plays. Shows they’re engaged in the game & in it for each other. HUGE display of a great culture!

COACHES: The PK is all about EVERY player doing their job. On this clip, you’ll see Wilson (43) get overextended high on Hedman…who is not a threat from there. This allows the lane to open up cross-ice from Kucherov to Stamkos (who is Wilson’s responsibility). DO YOUR JOB.

KIDS: Watch Bryan Little (18) for WPG on this clip. He does an unreal job as F1. Stick down, hounding the puck, back hard thru the middle. He takes away passing lanes and limits their options to move the puck up ice. Such a great job, especially while up in the 3rd!!

COACHES: If there was ever a clip to show your players about shooting the puck with your feet moving in stride…this is it. This skill should be an emphasis for all shooting drills in practice as it makes it MUCH harder for the goalie to get ready/set for the shot. Great goal!!

KIDS: Watch the eyes and upper bodies of Ryan Johansen & David Pastrnak on these two goals. The ability to use your whole body for deception on defenders/goalies is such an undervalued & underutilized skill. It’s a skill we should always be working on in practice. Great job!! “DECEPTION” is a major buzz word in...

COACHES: Do you ever wonder why you see so many teams flip or go off the glass & out in their own zone? Check out the RD for CBJ. So many teams pinch & play their D aggressively that the W is not an option on the breakout. Off glass here counters aggressive play &...

COACHES: Boston’s NZ…especially in the 3rd…was on fire last night! Check out these clips, specifically: -The big time effort from F1 -Great gap above TOR middle F -Great gaps from BOS D All 3 lead to A LOT of dumped pucks & very little room to make plays. Great job!!

COACHES: High level development coaches are really emphasizing using crossovers w/ the puck in the NZ. The lateral movement makes it difficult for D to defend as it makes it tougher to match speeds & forces them to move laterally as well. Easy defending straight lines.GREAT goal!

GOALIES: Here are two clips where Sergei Bobrovsky uses his hockey sense and skating ability to square up and take difficult sequence shots in the chest. Many goalies would rely on “being athletic”. Bobrovsky relies on his skating & smarts…making it look way easier than it was!
